The village Kaprije is located on the south western side of the island.
On the north eastern side of the island there are several small cottages that are occasionally inhabited by the people from island Murter who have land there.
The island boasts of natural beauty - the valleys and small hills are covered with pine forests and cultivated olive groves and vineyards.
Besides tourism local residents work in agriculture and fishing.
With your arrival on Kaprije you will find the peace that you have long sought. It's so peaceful mostly due to the fact that the island has no cars.
On the island there are no roads, no traffic and no crowds - just the calming sounds of the sea.
Long time ago in the 14th and 15th century Kaprije was in possession of rich aristocratic families from Šibenik. In later centuries, the island was used by the population from the mainland as a shelter from the invading Ottoman army.
At that time church that was named after St. Peter was built in the village.
